New Yamaha XTO V8 engines

Yamaha's XTO range eliminated the 425 reference at the beginning of the year to keep two new power ratings: the XTO 400 hp V8 engine and the XTO 450 hp V8.

In addition to being a revamped version for style and design, the new 450 and 400 Hp XTO V8s offer improved performance and strength for powering larger boats. Yes, the V8 configuration offers greater power throughout the entire rpm range, so there are now more opportunities to use outboard engines to power heavier and heavier boats.

Yamaha applies entirely new technologies in its field, with a new level in endurance, power and reliability, and unprecedented systems integration and precise control.

Why are these motors out of series?

• Its revolutionary direct fuel injection improves efficiency in two ways: it increases engine performance in the water and reduces fuel consumption.
• The incorporation of the integrated digital electric steering allows for smoother and more precise steering without losing the feeling of connection with the water. Thus, the sailing experience is smoother and more intuitive at the helm.
• By Yamaha's Helm Master EX® system for even better control and maximum confidence, expelling exhaust gas through a combination of three different pathways, depending on rpm level. The result is around 300% more thrust in reverse, a better balance between forward and reverse thrust, plus greater efficiency at full power.

But there is more.

Yamaha's XTO engines also have Yamaha's exclusive TotalTilt function, which allows full up or down trim from any position by simply pressing the tilt button twice.

And just as important as the technology: ease of maintenance. The new engines allow the gear oil to be changed in the water while the boat is still at the dock. Likewise, the fairing is made up of several parts, allowing it to be opened easily and safely for maintenance.
