There are many models of paddle surfboards on the market, designed to adapt not only to the athlete, but also to the water conditions. In addition to rigid and inflatable boards, they are divided into multi-purpose boards and touring boards. Rigid paddle boards are made of foam or composite materials and are preferred by the most experienced paddlers. They are more expensive than inflatable boards, are heavier and require more storage space, although they provide a more stable and faster ride.

In Nautica Ereso we have chosen to offer you the full range of Jobe, all of them inflatable, because we believe that everything this brand can offer is far above other brands in the market. And if you can also store it in a few minutes in a watertight bag and transport it or take it on a trip, so much the better.

If you are a beginner and you simply want to do some coastal exercise

If you are just starting out, we recommend a multi-purpose board. They are versatile and great for beginners because they are wider and more rounded in shape, making them stable and easy to maneuver in a variety of water conditions. Multi-purpose boards are typically between 9 feet (274 cm) and 11 feet (335 cm) in length and are perfect for paddling and exploring the coast in optimal sea conditions.

What are the options among the multi-purpose boards?

  • Mira 10.0: for people who are new to the sport and has a light weight.
  • Leona 10.6: when you want to take it up a notch safely. 15 centimeters (6 inches) longer, making it more accessible for larger people.
  • Yarra 10.6: One of the best-sellers for its versatility. This award-winning board has a thick and wide shape and the best technologies to give you a spectacular experience.
  • Elite Yarra 10.6: the Premium Aero Yarra is an elite version to which we give the highest score.
  • Loa 11.6: The Loa can be considered the big sister of the Yarra. This board is a foot longer and also wider, making it a super stable board that can also easily carry an additional (smaller) person.
  • Mohaka 10.2: is a great all-rounder that you can ride for windsurfing, making it a fantastic 2-in-1 board.

If you have experience and want to make excursions

Touring boards are longer and narrower than all-purpose boards, with a more pointed design and a slightly wider tail. Touring boards are designed for longer rides, making them an excellent choice for exploring beyond the coves. They are also faster than all-purpose boards, making them perfect for covering long distances. Touring boards typically range from 11 (335 cm) to 14 (426 cm) feet in length.

  • Sena 11.0 This lightweight touring board is an excellent choice for those who like to cover longer distances on a compact and lightweight board.
  • Duna 11.6 A great board for its degree of stability and lightness. You also have the Duna Elite 11.6 option , very accessible and premium quality, and the E-Duna 11.6, which includes an electric motor to go further.
  • Neva 12.6 With its 12.6 foot length and narrow shape, this board glides through the water with ease. If you are looking to cover long distances, this is the board for you.

The origins of Paddle Surfing or Stand Up Paddle Surfing

The sport has its origins in Hawaii, where it was known as "hoe he'e nalu". The practice dates back to the 1940s when surf instructors in Waikiki began using paddles to help them ride the waves and get a better view of their students. The modern version of paddle board surfing began on the North Shore of Oahu in the early 2000s, when surfers used it as a way to stay in shape during the off-season.
